Residential Natural Gas Remained Reliable During February Freeze

As extreme cold weather spread across Texas earlier this year, service of residential natural gas – the energy that powers gas stoves and fireplaces – remained uninterrupted for 99.95% of Texans. In other words, more than 13 million Texans were able to stay safe and warm inside their homes during the storm thanks to natural gas. What’s more, that reliability was maintained while natural gas demand spiked by 159% from early February to the storm’s peak.
