New Report Finds Natural Gas Saved Texans $60 Billion
From 2006 to 2016, Texas families and business saved a total of $60 billion from low-cost natural gas, a new report from the Consumer Energy Alliance (CEA) finds. Titled, Oil and Natural Gas Light the Way for Texans, the report quantifies the household savings thanks to increased oil and gas production over the past decade.
Methane Emissions Decline in Permian Basin as Oil and Gas Production Soars
The Permian Basin is pumping out record amounts of oil and natural gas, and newly released federal data show that methane emissions from America’s largest oilfield are declining.
Memo to Texas Tribune: Next Time Read What Experts Say on Natural Gas and Climate
The Texas Tribune just published the latest in its misleading series on oil and gas exports in Texas. Unfortunately, it’s more of the same. The article – which has a byline exclusively from the Center for Public Integrity, an activist news outlet – falsely asserts that natural gas “isn’t so great for the climate,” and provides little to no evidence to support that claim. Yet the article proceeds from that claim as if it were an indisputable fact.
Take Action
The State Department’s draft supplemental environmental impact statement shows yet again, that the Keystone XL pipeline is safe - despite what activists and the radical "Keep It In The Ground" campaign claim.
This Week's Topic: Oil Exports
U.S. crude oil exports of nearly 1.8 million barrels a day were the top petroleum product export in the first half of 2018. Crude oil exports surpassed hydrocarbon gas liquids or HGL exports of 1.6 million barrels a day, according to a report by the Department of Energy. In June a new monthly record for U.S. crude oil exports was made when the country exported 2.2 million barrels a day, according to the Energy Department. Total crude oil and petroleum product exports for the first six months of 2018 hit a record 7.3 million barrels a day.
