Texas Drilling Permits up 60 Percent this Year as Permian and Eagle Ford See Growth

This week, the Texas Railroad Commission (RRC) released new data showing oil and natural gas drilling permits issued in Texas increased by over 60 percent in July 2017 compared to July 2016. Expectedly, the majority of permits were issued in West Texas’ Permian Basin; however, the number of permits issued for South Texas’ Eagle Ford was not insignificant, accounting for around 23 percent of the total.
